Sean Webster

Sean Webster was born in Edinburgh and studied singing at Napier University and Trinity Laban Conservatoire where he won various prizes and represented the vocal faculty at the annual Gold Medal Award.

As a soloist, Sean has performed much of the core oratorio repertoire and various operatic roles from Argante (Rinaldo) to Major General Stanley (Pirates of Penzance), appearing at venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, Kings Place, St John’s, Smith Square, St Mark’s Basilica, Venice and at festivals including BBC Proms, Leeds Lieder and the London Handel Festival. He has worked under conductors such as Sian Edwards, Nicholas Kraemer and Laurence Cummings. Sean also has an affinity with art song and has given many recitals throughout the UK and in Germany.

Sean is a member of the vocal ensemble Blossom Street, with which he has performed at Wigmore Hall and Palacio Real de Madrid and recorded to critical acclaim for Naxos and Resonus Classics. He has also worked with Arcangelo, Ludus Baroque, Oxford Philharmonic, Bangkok Opera, Opera North and Scottish Opera where he recently covered the role of Un Doganiere (La Bohème).
